CRUFTS

For the second year running, I will be working on the KAD (Kids Around Dogs) stand in the NEC at the international Dog Show – CRUFTS.

As we know, in the past, Crufts has had some mixed press for their ethics and canine welfare standards. However, over the years I have attended and now work at Crufts, I can REALLY see a difference with the introduction of a wider variety of stands, exhibits and shows such as Nutrition advice, grooming demonstrations, learning establishments, Medical detection dogs, Guide Dogs, Bark and Read, Hearing dogs, Search and Rescue charities, Police Dog demonstrations, various Therapy dog companies and of course us KAD! There is also a wide range of skilled dogs/handlers showing off their skills in; flyball, agility, obedience, heel work to music, rally, gun dog work etc. When you attend Crufts, you notice that the televised ‘Best in Show’ (slightly dated in my opinion), is an extremely SMALL section of a more advancing and developing mind set of others in the Crufts arenas and halls. The positive changes we are starting to see in dog ownership and care, are exciting to be a part of!
